After partying a little too hard in London, Kiefer Sutherland has made his way back to NYC and is trying to be on his best behavior to keep his 24 bosses happy.

Fancast reports that Kiefer was seen with three friends in NYC on Friday at Tortilla Flats, but Kiefer kept the partying down to a minimum.

After waiting with his friends patiently outside for an hour before a table opened up, Kiefer enjoyed a non-alcoholic beverage while his friends had drinks inside.

“Kiefer is taking it easy. He’s laying off the alcohol and he is very aware of his public image, a pal told Fancast. “He doesn’t want to be known as a mess – he’s keeping his nose clean. Kiefer’s friends know him as an unassuming guy and very friendly. 24 ending this year is a big deal and it does affect him. He is already missing the great cast and crew.”

24’s season finale is May 24 and Kiefer’s bosses hope he’ll behave at least until then.

”There’s some pressure from the top for him to behave,” the friend explained. “The movie rests on his shoulders and there is a desire to roll that out quickly following the finale. Kiefer has a lot of responsibilities and it is in his best interest to keep the partying to a minimum and focus on work.”

Annie Wersching has admitted that she was surprised by the reaction to her character’s death in 24.

Wersching played Renee Walker, who was shot in a recent episode shortly after sleeping with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

“The reaction’s been pretty intense,” she told TV Guide. “You know, fans are really upset and sad.”

She added: “[The producers] came to me before this season, so I knew it was coming. But I’m very happy to be able to not have to keep it a secret any more, because I shot this last episode at Christmas time.”

Wersching joked that she wants people to focus more on her sex scene with Sutherland.

“It was very cool,” she said. “It’s kind of getting overshadowed by the fact that Renee died. I kind of wish that had its own special episode, because that’s a pretty big deal that Jack Bauer finally – you know.”

Wersching also revealed that viewers will enjoy watching the way Jack deals with Renee’s death.

“Fans are very sad to see Renee go, but I think they’ll be very happy to see what it turns Jack into,” she said. “I mean, obviously, he’s going to go very Jack Bauer.”
