KSHome had the pleasure of attending Kiefer Sutherland’s concert here in Chicago on Sunday. We were not disappointed. Amazing! Extremely impressed. Not only a talented actor, but an amazing singer.
Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section bassist David Hood, keyboardist Spooner Oldham, guitarist Will MacFarlane, and drummer Milton Sledge were on the session for Sutherland’s song “Rebel Wind,” which will appear on his next album.
The actor played many songs from his 2016 album in the Palomino Tent Sunday. Before he sang “Shirley Jean,” a song about a man on death row at prison, he commented on how much of Johnny Cash fan he is and how he loved the way Cash wrote about prison.
“I’ve never been to prison, but I have been to jail a few times,” Sutherland said.
24. Guys, Keifer Sutherland can sing. This is not a Bruce Willis, Dan Aykroyd, John Goodman situation, where an actor wishes they were a musician. Sutherland is a musician.
Kiefer Sutherland explains why he decided to return to TV with another political drama after nine seasons of his hit series 24 and what he did during his break.
